US store-bought dress belts are usually measured with a range of pant sizes. Pick your belts two or three sizes larger than your pants for a correct fit. If you wear a 34″ trouser waist, a belt labeled 95cm will probably be in the right neighborhood. Here is a chart that maybe helpful:
Belt Size in Inches 29.5 31.5 33.5 35.4 37.4 39.4 41.3 43.3 45.3
Belt Size in Cm. 75 80 85 90 95 100 105 110 115
Please note some belts have designs for the hip & in the middle of the back. These require a more exact fit to show their best.
There is only a limited supply of the best leathers. Oiled saddle leather is an expensive material to make but will offer decades of wear with just modest care. Hang the belt by the buckle when not in use to allow it to recover its shape. About once every 6 months a light rub of lanolin [not neats foot oil or saddle soap] where the tongue of the buckle goes thru the leather strap will help preserve the leather from the stress of the buckle and the hand oils from use. With just this little care if these saddle leather belts fail to be an extraordinary accessory for at least a decade we would be surprised.
Wear and enjoy because these belts may be the single best accessory you purchase all year!
